I've no doubt posted this years ago, but worth reposting every damn year just as a reminder. It's a lesson in... Civics; a self contained class that should be played in every middle school classroom (especially in Florida). Funny as hell, and sadder still- cause the joke's on us, and we just don't seem to listen, or learn, or even care...

I'm usually for respecting original work as is (ie- letting well enough alone). But then, songs get redone and reinterpreted all the time, and sometimes (sometimes), they even come out all the better for it.
All I'm saying here is that this was rather tastefully done, and does offer an experience and insight that is both revelatory and worthwhile...
This video exposes, describes and breaks down America's complete fascination and devotion to the cult of the gun. And I must confess... it's most blatantly obvious and central tenet- the gun's socio-economic hold on a seemingly dispossessed, disempowered populace is one that I never fully realized till now. The causes may be somewhat conflated, the consequences- brutally destructive. And, not surprisingly, it's Chris Hedges, once again, offering the frank, concise and drop dead insightful analysis...
