Once It Was... Tempting

I admit it. There was a time when I was curious, curious about what it would be like to have a lying idiot, con man extraordinaire as POTUS. I mean he wasn't just a life long criminal, he was one helluva entertaining fool that would provide endless laughs and puerile entertainment. All the same, I also realized it was my childish, self destructive nature still residing within that wanted this to manifest. Ultimately, it was out of my hands, destiny had decided its course, President he would become with all the expected nonsense, criminality and more. And Lord help us all if that road we tread once more- his penchant for criminality (once emboldened by whoever he could find- see below), now buttressed by his well placed cadre of handpicked enablers (both in the courts and the voting booth), will be unshackled and unrestrained...

The Lying Liar... Lies?!?

He swore he'd testify, and of course, never had the slightest intention of perjuring himself during actual trial. Which is why he lied, blasphemed and went on and on unto all sorts of crazed craziness upon conclusion of every day of the trial- exactly what he wasn't allowed to do under oath. Then he swore he never (EVER) uttered the words "Lock Her Up," even though he led the charge in front of the entire world for all to see and hear (the fun starts at 8:00). Of course, that's just par for the course for someone who told some 30,573 lies just during the course of his four year stint in the White House- leaving said edifice with his Biggest Whopper ever... that the election was stolen. 

And at this point, with all the recounts (many with handpicked vote counters- who sometimes came up with more votes for... Biden), those who still choose to believe that particular piece of demonstrably proven nonsense are those who purposely choose to believe demonstrably proven nonsense. They constitute some of the same people who actually believed in a Hillary Clinton Child Sex/Pizza Ring- and if that wasn't Total Gonzo Bat Shit Crazy Supreme- some of the same people that actually waited in Dealey Plaza (Lord, I can't make this kinda crazy up!) for a reanimated JFK, Jr. to appear and somehow help lead Herr Trump back into the White House!

Recently when asked about his relationship with god and how he prays, Trump conveniently reconfigured the conversation into how Evangelicals are so believing in and committed to- not necessarily God, but him! And always, whenever he talks about the public addressing him, they always refer to him as... "Sir." Male or female, Black or White, rich or poor, whenever anyone in the good ol' US of A addresses him in his particular recounting- it's always prefaced with... "Sir." He seemingly has the politest constituency of all time, except, of course, when he encourages them to fight at his rallies, or the Capitol building, or in the days yet to come when he alludes to the unrest that the public may incur should things not go quite their (his) way... Then again, I guess that could be construed as proper payback for those of us so uncaring that we said nothing when the FBI tried to assassinate him at his very home!

Naturally, we haven't heard the last of these fabulous tales of the insanely insane- Trump is rife with them, and his followers more than willing to up the ante of craziness, both in what they believe or make up themselves. Insanity has become the norm, and when a so called leader can say absolutely anything, anytime without fear or conscience... and then deny it without consequence- a good majority of the public is in very grave danger, the very position we may well find ourselves in this November!

The Never Ending Whirlpool of Deceit

"Ever wonder what living under fascism is like?" The aforementioned graffiti (pre 2020), was followed by: "you're living it." Bill Maher (who I definitely don't walk in lockstep with) has predicted a Trump victory in 2024- and we all laughed (dismissively) when he said that Trump wouldn't leave the White House voluntarily in 2020, under any circumstances... 

Well, insane as it may be (and there is no "may" about it)- despite the 91 indictments, despite the call(s) to insurrection and blatant criminality of those around him, Trump may actually once again be POTUS- after already proclaiming this his "Retribution" tour whereupon he and his cronies will proceed to dismantle the Constitution as they see fit once reseated in the throne of his making ...  

And, of course, this disruptor of all things sane and just does not operate in a vacuum. He has his loyal acolytes, eg- The Crazy Twins, each one more crazed, ignorant and belligerent than the other (although granted, their sheer, blatant stupidity is at times a perverse beauty unto itself)! And the fact that they go outta their way to openly display their disdain of each other, almost upends their maniacal hatred of all things Democrat. Of course, they are far from the only fervent cult Trump acolytes in Congress or government- while others respectfully (ie- fearfully) bend the knee to Orange Jesus in abject terror for themselves and family. 

But the never ending whirlpool of lies, insanity and personal attacks serve their purpose:

But his State of the Union address last night finally elucidated, clearly and succinctly, why even the wishy-washy Dems are still miles ahead of the clown train GOP: cheaper meds and health care, social security, gun control, infrastructure, the workers right to unionize, police reform, taxing the rich... Most working class Americans support that; and last night, POTUS did a pretty admirable job reminding everyone exactly what side at least tries to legislate for the above. It's a pretty admirable list of which they've had some fairly demonstrable wins of late, and yet somehow always fail to mention- unlike their Republican counterparts who repeatedly tout their imaginary accomplishments and baseless accusations on cue and on script ad naseum...

So make fun of Ol' Man Joe all ya want- I know I do! And then listen to this guy, you know, the guy who bragged that he aced a "Genius Test," when in reality his own handlers were too embarrassed (and afraid) to tell boss man that it was really little more than... a test for dementia!

The fun starts at 0:54 with what I think is an attempt at haiku- "I call it a dog, a beautiful dog, a talented dog," before he then starts riffing with a Knock-Knock joke. Yeah, priceless...

Or as one reporter once said about Herr Trump, "What does he mean when he says words?"

This Tuesday, America votes; and (as previously stated) many a MAGA extremist, election denier has now been legally ensconced to positions of oversight in the most crucial aspects of the voting process in key swing states throughout our country (and yet more to come with anticipated Republican victories). All this, while America reels from the gaping wound of having 40% of it's populace no longer bound by the common earthly realms of: science, history or any remotely verifiable fact... All the doing of one man, and one man alone- The Greatest Con Man Of The 21st Century! A man who does not have to prove one single thing he says for others to revere as dogma, and who is totally above question or consequence even as he openly denies and defies an ever increasing cavalcade of grievous criminalities. An unhinged, narcissist elite who has single-handedly galvanized a nationwide community of those even more unhinged (and formally recognized as such). He has not faded into the shadows as many had hoped, nor has his followers who he continues to incite- many well armed, and vowing to outdo the other to make an impression. 

Fuck Trump, Fuck Q, Fuck Republicans...

I'm long sick and tired of hearing about the breakdown in civility that has beset US politics as if it's some even handed, tit for tat problem on both sides of our ruling parties. STOP THE BULLSHIT! This current ongoing violence, racism and insanity was initiated, amplified and propagated by a career criminal who if the media had done their job and exposed him for what he has always been, would have never been allowed to run for the highest office in the land- a career grifter who should have been indicted long before he reveled in and fomented violence at his own rallies, and across our entire nation. A man who in turn has attracted and encouraged the craziest, most ignorant bottom feeders once thought no longer part of civilized society. A man who insisted that windmills cause cancer, who was actually allowed to change the course of a hurricane with the swipe of a Sharpie- a man who should have been determined mentally unfit, unsound and incompetent for the presidency the very moment he continued to insist that he had more people at his inauguration than Obama, despite obvious and overwhelming evidence otherwise. He has championed grade school name calling and taunting, proclaimed rumor and innuendo equivalent to fact ("That's what I hear, that's what they say"), in addition to mocking people with disabilities to the delight of his crowd. And I haven't even mentioned the damage he has incurred upon our democracy, its institutions and its very wellbeing and future- from weaponizing the DOJ and extorting heads of state and state election officials alike, to stacking the Supreme Court with the most woefully sorry of partisan buffoons.

We now live in a country where Republicans are free to say (and believe) that Democrats regularly groom children to rape and drink their blood. Claiming Trump really won the election is pretty small potatoes after that- even if their very own audit found more votes for... Biden; even after his cronies stated (well before the election) that the plan all along was to declare victory no matter what, even though he's on tape begging, pleading, demanding to be given 11,000 unearned votes!

Is it any surprise, any wonder, any shock to hear that a Republican Governor of The United States of America finds humor in the attempted assassination of the Speaker of the House, of the brutal attack of her husband? This is where we are, and this is but the very smallest synopsis of how we all got there. Democrats, as usual, have allowed themselves to be bullied, thinking that providence itself would somehow, someway right their listing ship back into sanity, fair play and the rule of law. Meanwhile, the January 6th Committee has singularly attempted to slam the brakes on a runaway freight train that has long ago breached the event horizon... 

So yeah- Fuck Trump, Fuck Q, Fuck Republicans! Childish, I know. But when you live in a time that has Trump supporters actually showing up to witness a reanimated JFK, Jr. resurrect and triumphantly lead Trump back into the White House, when we have allowed rabid election deniers to man key positions in determining the official vote counts in key swing states... sometimes, it seems about all one's left.

Marjorie Taylor Greene insists that it was Antifa who rioted on January 6th- while at the same time 'praying' with one of the Trump supporters she acknowledges was at the Capitol that very day! But then, what do you expect of people who actually gather to witness a resurrected, zombie JFK, Jr. arise again to inexplicably change parties and lead Donnie back into the White House!?! 

The very same people who condemned "Defund The Police," now shout "Defund The FBI!" The very same 'police supporters' who had no problem with officers being attacked at the Capitol- while trying to protect... them!

And then, this precious 5th Amendment gem, from the very mouth of he that belched it in such loving irony. If ever I was certain that all I need do was rest easy and just wait till it inevitably hit...

Those possessing the very slightest acquaintance with human nature and common sense should now realize that Donald Trump is/and always has been the most perfectly transparent con man who ever grifted the American political stage (even if it took this painfully long to get to such a woefully evident insight). And that still excludes all of his MAGA Faithful who purposely ignored any of the Jan. 6 investigative hearings. When facts no longer matter, and mere whim rules the day, it's impossible to accurately judge where any society currently stands, other than the most obvious of assessments- that it's in severely-deep-shit!

As if to prove my point:  Jim Banks of Indiana... said that if the hearings have done anything, "they've exonerated President Trump and the people supporting him."

And the irony is... he's 100% percent correct! He and his ilk are no longer bound by the rules of reality; they have broken free into the realm of their own delusional making! And we're the ones left to deal with their maniacal fantasies, and policies...

With enough shit floating about his neck (that he himself shat out) to convict him six ways to Sunday thanks to the remarkable effort invested by the Jan 6 Senate Select Committee, it's about time someone, anyone jolts Merrick Garland awake, have him perform his duly appointed duty, and throw the seditious son of a bitch in jail where he has belonged (long before he ever set foot in the White House). 

And that said, why won't Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson make the criminal referral to the DOJ? What in the hell is going on with both of these guys!?! There's precious little time before Nov '22 (and '24)...
