Knowing One's Craft

Anyone interested in seeing these photos has already seen them. The reason I'm posting this video is because Yvonne Hanson does a remarkable job breaking the work down and explaining it as far as: intention, aesthetics and production. She does it in plain language, doesn't hyperventilate into art speak or descend into geometric, compositional graphics. Don't know how she'd fare at dissecting and explaining other genres of photography, but at the end of this video, one has a damn good idea as to why, and how, these portraits succeed, and how Christopher Anderson went about attaining their success.

PS- Good thing they didn't hire Gilden to shoot the portraits!
PPS- Interesting hearing how Mean Meister Miller coyly pleaded for (ready for it)... "kindness," suspecting what would be revealed- and having his very words mirrored back so poignantly...
