Time to take stock and give thanks. So many of us got it so much better than so many others, at home and world wide.
And that said, we got one long haul ahead to keep it from getting that much worse- god, someone, anyone... everyone help us all.

Wow. Poor guy. I remember when Mrs. JP & I went to the Rally for Fear in 2010, we were looking for the subway out of DC and we ran into this homeless black guy. All I could give him was my last few bucks in cash. It struck me at how effortlessly poverty could slip into our nation's capital without being noticed. DC was deserted that day and no one knew this poor guy even existed except for us. How could a poor man live on the streets in the capital of most powerful nation on earth, a capital swimming in cash changing the wrong hands, and why was it up to me to give him anything? Well, he was grateful for what little I could him. I suspect he was the only one left in Washington DC who would've been grateful for anything.
