Thoughtful, well produced doc on... typewriters. Manual, portable, electric and pre-20th century! But this flick is so much more than just that. It's about the creative process in general, and how our analog yesteryear counterpoints our digital revolution.
Writers and enthusiasts alike wax poetic on the tactile sensation (of machine and paper), the mechanical precision and eye pleasing curves- and of course, the process itself! These machines served us long and well- and a handful of devotees are still gleefully loyal. Anyone see any comparisons?
PS- A couple of scenes in which people are awkwardly poking about while blinded with virtual reality headsets and other digital paraphernalia are both pathetically sad, and hilarious...
